Our position

Recycle Plastic. Don’t Trash It.

We make plastic packaging, so we are not going to pretend the conversation is someone else’s. Plastic that is used well, collected and recycled is a resource. Plastic that ends up in a storm drain is a failure — usually of handling, not of the material.

What we ask of every customer

Four habits that change what happens to the bag.

01

Separate at source

Glass, metal, paper and plastic should never go into the same bin. Separation is what makes recycling possible at all — once it is mixed and wet, most of it is lost.

02

Use coloured liners

Colour-coding bins is the simplest way to make separation stick in a hotel, school or office. We supply coloured liners for exactly this reason.

03

Reuse before you replace

A carrier bag that comes back to the shop five times has done five bags’ work. Heavier gauges cost a little more and last a great deal longer.

04

Hand it to a recycler

Clean, sorted plastic has real value to Zimbabwe’s recyclers and waste pickers. Bag it separately and it will be collected rather than burnt.

Why it matters here

Litter is a handling problem, not a material problem.

Zimbabwe does not have a plastic problem because plastic exists. It has one because too much of it never reaches a collection point. That is fixable at the level of the household, the shop and the site — and it starts with the bin.

  • Correctly sorted plastic is a raw material with a buyer
  • Coloured liners make separation obvious to staff and cleaners
  • Heavier-gauge bags reduce how many bags a household uses
  • Burning plastic is worse than landfilling it — never burn it
